Due to wind and weather this week, the bonfire will be postponed until next Thursday, October 17th at 7 pm. We apologize for all the changes with this event, but are excited to celebrate our school. GO BIG BLUE
We have a change with our VB games scheduled Thursday. JH will start at 3 PM and will play on 1 court the order will be C-B-A. HS will start at 5 PM. The varsity team will play first at 5 PM followed by the JV team.
We have had a change to our homecoming activities this week due to possible weather. We will have the car smash and bonfire on Wednesday starting at 6:30 pm. We will then have our volleyball and wiffle ball games on Thursday at 6:30 pm or after the HSVB games in the field house.
The Akron J.H. Lady Ram volleyball team had a very good day at the LPAA League Tournament on Saturday. The Rams beat Sedgwick County 2-1, lost a close contest to Merino 1-2, and finished the day strong downing Wray 2-0. The ladies displayed resilience all day. Great job players and coaches!

Our Akron elementary students were treated to a presentation by book author, Barbara Tyner this morning.
Mr. Hall’s 6th grade science students were outside today using their math and science skills to draw the different layers of the earth.
We were happy to have the three A.H.S. students pictured below, lead our school in the pledge and fight song this morning.

Last week, 10 Ag I students participated in the District Greenhand Workshop. The students spend the day working with the District officers learning about he different aspects and opportunities FFA offers. Robert Walker and Cameron Collins are both serving as District 15 Officers this year and and helped facilitate a workshop.
The Akron Lady Ram volleyball team defeated the Weldon Valley Lady Warriors 3-0 on Tuesday night.

John Horn and Richard Parker from the Akron Elks Lodge #2579, presented the Akron 3rd grade classes with dictionaries on Tuesday.
There will not be a HS Volleyball C game Tuesday, October 1. Weldon Valley does not have enough girls so there will only be JV and V with a start time of 4 PM. Come out and support our Lady Rams.
ATHLETIC SCHEDULE CHANGE
The J.H. football game at Merino originally scheduled for this Thursday, October 3rd has been moved to Monday, October 7th. The H.S. J.V. football game vs. Merino scheduled for Monday October 7th has been moved to Monday, October 28th. Please check our website calendar or call the school if you ever need clarification about our events.

The Akron J.H. Lady Rams played volleyball at Caliche tonight. The Rams won the ‘A’ game 2-0, won ‘B’, lost ‘C’, and lost ‘D’.
