🌟 Proud moment for Akron! 🌟 Senior Shirley West attended the Culinary Institute of America in San Antonio for a 5-day immersion hosted by the Urban School Food Alliance. Shirley—one of two high school students invited—trained with 18 K–12 child nutrition professionals from across the country, learning hands-on culinary skills and exploring careers in school foodservice. Akron FCCLA and Advisor Mrs. Peggy Hall attended FCCLA Northeastern Regional Conference this week. Fifteen FCCLA Members competed in nine different teams and came home with 2 gold medals, 4 silver medals and 3 bronze. Workshops attended were: Culinary arts, Design, FACTS, and Early Childhood. Opening Session was about finding your "Joy" in life. Students also enjoyed a murder mystery banquet where Molly O'neil won the award of solving the case of who was the murderer. Students competing were: Gold Medal: Molly O'Neil and Payton Marshall - Interior Design Gold Medal: Alia Winter and Shirley West - Focus on Children Silver Medal: Tristan Hall and Aubrey Bulik - Chapter in Review Silver Medal: Kashlee Randel and MacKenzie Fincher - Focus on Children Silver Medal: Malia Dracon and Estrella Arteaga - Focus on Children Silver Medal: Kinley Brown - Focus on Children Bronze Medal: Alex Galindo - Entrepreneurship Bronze Medal: Caleb Hansen and Parker Molt - Focus on Children Bronze Medal: Kendal Zimmerman - Leadership

We will be hosting a PEP RALLY for our State Bound Teams, Girls Basketball and Knowledge Bowl, on Wednesday at 3:15 PM in the Fieldhouse. Please come out and support our RAMS as they head off to STATE. There will also be a sendoff for the Girls Basketball Team on Thursday at 11 AM and for the Knowledge Bowl Team on Monday at 6:50 AM. Both teams will leave from the North Parking Lot. Attached is a flyer for the Girls Basketball Team. We will send out more information about the Knowledge Bowl Team soon. Excited to see our RAMS in action. GOOD LUCK! GO BLUE!

Akron Rams Parents and Families,
We will NOT have school this Thursday, March 12th. We have numerous Akron staff, students, and parents planning to go and support the Lady Rams this Thursday. We have also had a great deal of illness among our students and staff. Hopefully, the extra day heading into spring break will help. If you are able, please join the Akron crowd and help cheer our Rams on to victory.
The success of our school both in and outside the classroom is a testament to the great teachers, families, and community of Akron. These events provide us the opportunity to openly share our support for our children and community.
