AKRON SCHOOL DISTRICT S-CAP SITE VISIT The Akron School District hosted over 30 site reviewers at the school on Wednesday and Thursday (January 22nd & 23rd). The reviewers were composed of educators from Aguilar, Buena Vista, La Junta, La Veta, Merino, Vilas, and Wiggins. The group was also joined by facilitators from Generation Schools Network and University of Colorado Denver. This is the Akron School Districts second year in the Student Centered Accountability Program. The program gives school districts an additional level of accountability and provides feedback for continuous improvement. The review process involves collecting multiple points of data that include document review, survey, focus group interviews, and school and classroom observation. The information gained from the review helps schools identify areas of strength and areas where they can focus their efforts for improvement. We would like to thank our students, parents, and teachers for giving us their time and feedback through surveys and focus group participation. We look forward to the work of making our school the best it can be to serve our students and community. view image

AKRON HIGH SCHOOL COMMUNITY PRIDE A big thanks goes out to H.S. Principal Mr. Shawn Randel and his students and staff for organizing and running a soup dinner feed and bingo with the community. It was wonderful to see our students interacting with their elders. Great job Rams! view image
