Last week, 10 Ag I students participated in the District Greenhand Workshop. The students spend the day working with the District officers learning about he different aspects and opportunities FFA offers. Robert Walker and Cameron Collins are both serving as District 15 Officers this year and and helped facilitate a workshop.
The Akron Lady Ram volleyball team defeated the Weldon Valley Lady Warriors 3-0 on Tuesday night.

John Horn and Richard Parker from the Akron Elks Lodge #2579, presented the Akron 3rd grade classes with dictionaries on Tuesday.
There will not be a HS Volleyball C game Tuesday, October 1. Weldon Valley does not have enough girls so there will only be JV and V with a start time of 4 PM. Come out and support our Lady Rams.

The J.H. football game at Merino originally scheduled for this Thursday, October 3rd has been moved to Monday, October 7th. The H.S. J.V. football game vs. Merino scheduled for Monday October 7th has been moved to Monday, October 28th. The Akron J.H. Lady Rams played volleyball at Caliche tonight. The Rams won the ‘A’ game 2-0, won ‘B’, lost ‘C’, and lost ‘D’.

The Akron H.S. football team lost to Sedgwick County Friday night 52-0.
The Akron H.S. Lady Ram volleyball team dropped a 3-1 contest to Sedgwick County on Friday night.
The Akron Lady Rams played tough Thursday night against the Yuma Indians. Both teams lost but show some great potential. And a huge thanks to the football boys as the cheering section. GO BLUE! 💙
Thank you to Ms. Thompson for going after the Bayer Foundation Grant. Our district was awarded $10,000 to purchase a VR (virtual reality) system. Thank you to our local farmers and community for supporting our school!

The Akron FBLA put on a car wash fundraiser on Friday.
The Akron J.H football team played Sedgwick County on Thursday night at Julesburg. The final score was Akron 6 and Sedgwick County 22.
The Akron J.H. volleyball team was in action at Julesburg Thursday night. Results: D team split, C team split, B team lost in two, and A team lost in two.
Mr. Hall and our 6th grade students led the school in singing the Akron Ram fight song this morning.

COMMUNITY PRIDE
Our Akron high school students were out and about in the community Wednesday working to spruce up the town. This is the second year of the community pride program at our school.

Bret Miles, NE BOCES Executive Director, stopped in at the Akron school board work session on Tuesday evening and made a surprise special presentation to Akron’s new elementary principal Kendra Anderson. Miles presented Anderson with a gavel and vase for her leadership on the BOCES superintendent advisory council this past school year.
The yellow ribbons around our trees are in recognition of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Thank you to the ladies of Akron Gamma Omega for recognizing this important cause and month of awareness!
