The Akron School is no longer on Lock Out protocol. The sheriff's department has notified us that the suspect is in custody in Yuma County.

Parents,
We have been notified of a threat that exists in Yuma County. As a precautionary measure we are implementing our lock out protocol which means business as usual inside our locked building. We will continue this protocol until the threat has been resolved.

HSBB season begins this Thursday in Brush at 4 PM. Both JV boys and JV girls will play at 4:00 followed by VG at 5:30 then VG at 7:00. Please be early in case we are running ahead of schedule. Come to Brush and support our RAMS! GO BLUE!

REMINDER TO ALL HIGH SCHOOL FALL ATHLETES: The fall athletic banquet is tomorrow Wednesday, December 4th, at 7:00 p.m. in the fieldhouse. Please remember to bring your designated dessert or side dish to share.

The Akron School District will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday, November 26th due to predicted weather and hazardous conditions.

Community Pride scheduled for tomorrow (11/26) has been postponed due to predicted weather and will be rescheduled for a date TBD. High School students will be attending classes as normal.

This Wednesday and last Wednesday the 7th Grade Technology classes toured Hayes Aviation, Redline Propellor, and Redline Governor to get started on their What’s So Cool About Manufacturing Project. Thank you, Randy Hayes, Dan Jenson, and all the employees for the wonderful tour.
We look forward to working together on the project this school year.


A group of Akron 5th-8th grade students took part in the Mad Science program held at NJC on Tuesday.


Mrs. Woods and her sophomore class led the school in the pledge of allegiance and the Akron Ram fight song on Thursday morning.


Akron School District Business Manager, Kelli McCaffrey conducted the swearing in of three board members for the next four year term on the board. Jessica Filla will he serving her second term on the board and both Nathan Quick and Andy Molt will be starting their first term on the school board. Thank you for your willingness to serve our school.


Mrs. Drietz and a group of Akron FFA students gave a presentation at the board meeting last night. The students spoke about their experiences on the recent national convention trip.


We were proud to recognize the service of two board members last night. Kyle Dorrenbacher served the past 8 years and Kelly Chenoweth the past 4 years. Thank you for your commitment to our school and community!


Mrs. Houston and her yearbook students gave a presentation on their yearbook work at the school board at the school board meeting last night.
