Information is coming from CHSAA about Fall/Spring Football. We would like to meet with HS Football parents and players tonight at 6:30 PM at the baseball field to discuss our options. Details are still coming out about the two HS Football seasons and what the guidelines look like. I know this is a quick turnaround but would like to get information into your hands before making a decision.
Thanks

Parents/Guardians,
This is the last call for eligible families (those receiving free or reduced price meals in the 2019/2020 School year) to apply for state P-EBT benefits. Applications are due on Wednesday, September 23rd. When filling out this application you will need your student(s) State ID or SAISID, to get this number please contact Meghan Camacho at 970-345-2266 or m.camacho@akronrams.org
For more information about this program please visit: https://www.colorado.gov/pacific/cdhs/p-ebt. If you have further questions, please contact pebt2020@state.co.us and a representative will respond.
In May of 2020 the State of Colorado approved to provide P-EBT benefits for eligible families. Families with students that were eligible for free or reduced-price meals during the 19-20 school year (or were newly eligible within the months of March, April or May) could receive up to $279 per eligible child! These monies are intended to supplement the amount of meals the student would have received should their school had been in session during school closures
due to COVID-19.
Thank You,
Meghan Camacho
This institution is an equal opportunity provider.

Parents/Guardians,
The United States Department of Agriculture has extended its program of free summertime breakfast and lunch for any child that is age 1-18. The program started, Tuesday, September 9, 2020, and will end on December 31, 2020.
What this means is that any student that attends school in preschool through 12th grade can eat both BREAKFAST and LUNCH for FREE.
This is a great opportunity for your child to try the different meals that we serve here at school. I hope that you will take advantage of this opportunity. You can find our menu on the AkronRams app or at akronrams.net.
For those of you that have already paid for meals, we can carry that balance forward to when we have to start charging meals again in January. If your child owes for meals served previously we will be sending home and emailing out negative balances. Please try to utilize this time to catch up on their balance.
Meals that were served up until now were full pay unless you are on free or reduced meals.
If you have any questions feel free to contact Meghan Camacho at 970-345-2266.

Akron Ram Families,
We have had some questions about how to treat sickness symptoms with the new COVID guidances. The included document was created with collaboration from hospital staff and the NE Colorado Health Department. The Green and Yellow phases match our reopening plan. We are in Green when we have no cases or an isolated case. We move to Yellow when we have multiple cases in our school. The decision to move to a different phase will be evaluated weekly at a minimum. We are starting the school year in the Green phase. Let’s work together to keep our school safe and open!

Reminder: Preschool and Kindergarten Open House Thursday Night!

Akron Ram Families,
The Akron School District plans to return in-person instruction for the 2020-21 school year, following all required health and safety protocols. Washington County school district superintendents have been collaborating with members of our local health department, area hospitals, county commissioners and local school boards to develop a Reopening of Schools Plan for this fall. This plan incorporates three phases based on state and local guidelines to help keep students and staff as safe as possible. The goal of all area superintendents is to provide in-person learning while doing our best to protect against a large-scale outbreak of COVID. The Akron school administrative team and members of the staff will be working on details of the plan specific to our school, over the next couple of weeks.
The Akron School Board approved moving the student start date back to allow staff additional time to train and prepare for new safety and instruction protocols and practices that will be put in place for the school year. The new start dates for students are as follows: JH & HS (6th – 12th grades) on August 24th and Elementary (PK-5th grades) on August 26th. We will be sharing registration information soon on our website and in the newspaper. More information and a detailed plan will be released to our communities in the weeks ahead.
