Akron Ram Families,
We have had some questions about how to treat sickness symptoms with the new COVID guidances. The included document was created with collaboration from hospital staff and the NE Colorado Health Department. The Green and Yellow phases match our reopening plan. We are in Green when we have no cases or an isolated case. We move to Yellow when we have multiple cases in our school. The decision to move to a different phase will be evaluated weekly at a minimum. We are starting the school year in the Green phase. Let’s work together to keep our school safe and open!

Reminder: Preschool and Kindergarten Open House Thursday Night!

Akron Ram Families,
The Akron School District plans to return in-person instruction for the 2020-21 school year, following all required health and safety protocols. Washington County school district superintendents have been collaborating with members of our local health department, area hospitals, county commissioners and local school boards to develop a Reopening of Schools Plan for this fall. This plan incorporates three phases based on state and local guidelines to help keep students and staff as safe as possible. The goal of all area superintendents is to provide in-person learning while doing our best to protect against a large-scale outbreak of COVID. The Akron school administrative team and members of the staff will be working on details of the plan specific to our school, over the next couple of weeks.
The Akron School Board approved moving the student start date back to allow staff additional time to train and prepare for new safety and instruction protocols and practices that will be put in place for the school year. The new start dates for students are as follows: JH & HS (6th – 12th grades) on August 24th and Elementary (PK-5th grades) on August 26th. We will be sharing registration information soon on our website and in the newspaper. More information and a detailed plan will be released to our communities in the weeks ahead.

The Play Well Company that brought us our Lego Camps informed us today that they are unable to provide us with this opportunity for our 5-12 year olds.
We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

Any incoming Freshman who are interested in being in FBLA and want to participate in summer activities and projects please email Mrs. Houston at a.houston@akronrams.org. Have a great summer RAMS!

Parents of Akron Athletes: The Akron Clinic will no longer be offering free physicals to our student body due to COVID. In order for students to participate in summer workouts they must have a WELLNESS CHECK by July 1. All necessary paperwork can be picked up inside the front doors of the main school entrance Mon-Thu from 8-3. Any questions please email s.randel@akronrams.org. Students not participating in summer workouts but planning on participating in sports next school year should have their WELLNESS CHECK by August 10.

There will be a meeting for HS girls wanting to do fall and winter sports at the football field Sunday at 5:00. Please sit in stand and use social distancing protocols. Coach Woods, Clarkson, Randel, Pickens will be discussing the summer activities and COVID-19 protocols to return to action.
