The Akron Ram baseball team dropped both games of their doubleheader at Wiggins on Saturday.

The Junior High track meet scheduled for tomorrow, April 12th, has been cancelled.
The Akron School District will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, April 11th due to forecasted blizzard conditions. Please be safe.
The Akron School District will have an early release Wednesday, April 10th. Students will be dismissed and buses will run at 12 (noon).
The national weather service has issued a blizzard warning for our area starting as rain and transitioning rapidly to snow on Wednesday afternoon. Please check our website newsfeed and Facebook page concerning school on Thursday.
Tomorrow night our 5th and 6th grade students will be putting on a band and choir concert. Come out and support our young musicians. The concert starts at 6:30 p.m.
The H.S. baseball doubleheader at Yuma has been rescheduled for Monday, April 1st, at 2 p.m.
The H.S. baseball game scheduled for today, March 30th, at Yuma has been postponed due to field conditions. The game will be rescheduled for this coming Monday or Tuesday depending on the availability of umpires. We will communicate the rescheduling of the game as soon as we are informed.
The start time for the Akron HS Baseball game scheduled at Yuma on Saturday March 30 has been moved back to 1 PM due to weather.

It’s Buy One Get One Fred Book Fair next week. The fair runs all week during school hours in our library. On Wednesday, April 3rd we will have a Family Book Fair Night from 4 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.

If you qualify for this program, your child’s preschool tuition will be FREE.
Requirements:
Child must be 4 years of age on or by June 1, 2019
Child must have, either through Akron Headstart or Akron Child Find, a full assessment. Please see attached Child Find brochure.
Guardians must submit:
• Completed Colorado Preschool Program Application
• Completed Free/Reduced Lunch Form
• Copy of Birth Certificate
• Families must complete the enrollment process at Akron Schools before attendance can begin in the fall.

It is recommended that applications be returned to Akron Schools as soon as possible for consideration. All applications will be reviewed and preliminary eligible applications will be given to the CPP Advisory Council for final approval.

The seniors had the opportunity to attend a mock interview last Tuesday at NJC; which was set up through the COSI grant.


The Rams finish fourth at Districts today. They lost a tough game to Sedgwick County by six, 30-36. Rams now wait to see where they will go for Regionals next weekend.

The Akron Ram wrestlers finished the 2019 State Wrestling Tournament with 39 points and two state placers. All four seniors contributed to the point total and Justin Traxler and Carson Reese both finished in 4th place.
