All eyes were on the Akron Rams when they hosted St. Mary’s Pirates in the Denver Broncos Game of the Week. The Rams entered the contest as the #2 team in 8-Man, while St. Mary’s was coming in looking for the upset. Along with being chosen the Game of the Week, four Broncos cheerleaders and Bronco alum Nick Ferguson were in attendance.
Prior to the game, tailgate festivities were held, with the cheerleaders and Ferguson providing autographs, photos and water bottles to all fans. One highlight was having the Super Bowl trophies on-site for photos. Ahead of kickoff, on-field entertainment is optional for the host school. Akron graciously accepted the offer, and fans were treated to a cheerleader dance routine. Ferguson also joined the team captains on the field for the coin toss.
