Board members Jessica Filla and Nathan Quick were recognized at the school board meeting last night for their years service and dedication to the Akron School District. Jessica served 9 years and the past 2 years as board president. Nathan served 4 years and the past 2 years as vice president. Under their leadership and direction, the district has taken several steps to continuously improve that have included yearly reviews, updates to curriculums, adding new programs and positions, school outreach to parents and community, facility improvement projects, increases to salaries, staff appreciations, and much more.
The district enrollment and budget have both trended upwards during their time on the board. Their amazing service and support is appreciated and their leadership on the board will be missed.
