Mrs. Stasenkahas been teaching for seven years.  She is Akron’s new Special Education teacher.  Mrs. Stasenka grew up in Central New York State, and she attended The College at Brockport, State University of New York.  When she was a young girl, she always played “school” and as a high school student, she loved helping everyone.  She even volunteered at a nursing home and assisted elementary school classrooms.  Nancy Drew was a favorite author of Mrs. Stasenka’s, and as an adult she enjoys a good mystery.  Mrs. Stasenka is looking forward to new friends and becoming more involved in the school and community.  She is also excited to have the opportunity to help the students. Her favorite quote is “A ship in harbor is safe, but that is not what ships are built for.”  -John A. Shedd
